1. How long has MEEP been at Miraloma Elementary School?

MEEP has been in operations since 1983. In November 2008 MEEP had its 25th year anniversary serving the Miraloma Community.

2. Why Should I choose MEEP over other programs in the area?

We know parents have several choices in picking quality after school programs for their children. MEEP offers a consistent on-site program staffed with dedicated and stable group of California Credentialed Teachers and program Aides; our staff has collectively over 25 years of experience in the field of education.

3. What are some of the enrichment programs MEEP offers?

In addition to providing daily homework assistance and social recreation activities, the program also schedules enrichment programs including Arts, Dance, Filmmaking, Cooking and Tutoring. Spanish and Mandarin has also been offered to the entire Miraloma community for a nominal tuition fee.

4. What are the months of operation for MEEP?

MEEP operates from September until May following the SFUSD calendar year.

5. Are you in operation during Teacher Development Days and holidays?

Yes, MEEP provides full day (8:30-5:30) operations during scheduled Teacher Development Days, Lunar New Year and Cesar Chavez Day. We are not in operation during federal holidays, Winter break, and Spring break.

6. Is there a waiting list for your program?

MEEP has had a long tradition of serving the Miraloma community. However, due to space use limitations, we do encourage parents to turn in their applications and a non-refundable deposit as soon as possible to secure their children’s spot in our program. In the event that we reach capacity in a specific grade level, a waiting list will be initiated.

7. Are you licensed by the State of California?

Yes, MEEP has been licensed by California State over the past 25 years.

8. Do you offer assistance with tuition?

We currently work with SF Children’s Council which offers qualified families reduced or tuition free assistance.

9. Do you offer nutritious snacks?

Yes, every afternoon we offer our students nutritious snacks, all snacks are accompanied by fresh fruits, and vegetables.

10. MEEP’s daily schedule seems very structured; Don’t the children get tired after school?

Quite the contrary, children seem to enjoy staying at MEEP and have a structured and organized homework, enrichment and play activities. Parents are often surprised when children sometimes don’t want to be picked up early from our program; this is a testament to our teachers and staff and their efforts to provide a stimulating and balanced schedule for all of our students.

11. Why isn’t MEEP free?

MEEP is a non-profit organization that does not receive any governmental assistance. We try to obtain as many grants as possible to help families and offer our students more enrichment programs.

12. Do you offer Summer Camp?

Yes we do! Our Summer Camps usually runs from beginning of August until the first day of school. Our Summer Camp Program is a great way for your child to get acclimated with school environment prior to the first day of school.

13. Can I join MEEP?
